What benefits do i get when using different search facilities to search for resources related to my topic?
i have choosen metacrawler and yahoo to do my research for this next assignment, using the different search facilities to search for resources related to my topic the effects of eating disorders on teenagers.
Metacrawler
is a search engine that blends the top web search results from google, yahoo, live searchask.com,about.com, Mive, Looksmartand other popular search engines. MetaCrawler also provides users the option to search for images, audio, video, news, yellow pages and white pages. MetaCrawler is a registered trademark of InfoSpace, (formerly MSN Search).
Yahoo
yahoo presents a list of actual information, which may include: news headlines, images from Yahoo’s Flickr photos site, business listings, local weather and links to other sites. Instead of showing only, for example, popular movies or some critical reviews, oneSearch lists local theaters that at the moment are playing a certain movie, user ratings and news headlines regarding the movie. A zip code or city name is required for Yahoo! oneSearch to start delivering local search results.
In this assignment i had learn about the different types of search engine and the different uses of it. It is kind of useful,as usually i would only know how to use the google search engine and nothing else.In future for assignment i would try to use these search enginges for my assignment research and also prokect research, as some search engine provides more than what google provides.
